During the meeting, the “standards on evaluating the sustainable development goals of smart city” proposed by FiberHome Technologies Group was accepted, marking the 4th smart city standards proposal at ITU-T, adding to the previously passed ITU-T L.1600, L.1601 and L.1602, all contributed by their lead author Dr. Sang Ziqin, member of the State Key Laboratory of Corporation (FiberHome Technologies).

Based on the experience with ITU-T L.1600, L.1601 and L.1602, the reviewing of this proposal not only referred to some relevant standards from UN institutions such as UNECE, UN-HABITAT, UNEP and UNDP, but also was adjusted according to the feedback from many pilot smart city programs such as in Dubai and Singapore.

“Standards on evaluating the sustainable development goals of smart city” aims to support the construction of smart city in terms of sustainable development within urban areas. In particular, it is an ongoing correspondence from the side of ITU and China to the strategies and requirements of United Nations in this concern.
